“You can consent to sex without consenting to other things. You can consent to sex without consenting to pregnancy, stds, certain types of sex, marriage, relationships, and a multitude of other things. You can consent to oral sex, but not to penetrative sex. You are not a tease for wanting to do one thing and not another. You can consent to sex once without consenting again.”—
The whole post is great but this is one of the most important points in my opinion
“It’s high time I set the record straight: macaron is not an alternate spelling of macaroon! In fact, the two terms refer to distinctly different things. Both macarons and macaroons are confections, and both names are derived from ammaccare, which is Italian for “to crush” — but that’s where the similarities end.”
American macaroons are different than French macarons, but “macaron” is the french word for “macaroon.” They come from the Italian amaretto cookie, an almond/egg-white cookie. american macaroons are either nut- or coconut-based, and french are nut and meringue cookies.
Not the same cookie, but the same word and the same origin. So, you can say “French macaroon,” or just “macaron.”
